A Family Affair

Madison Record

After 20 years, Janet Nesin knows what it takes to provide excellent physical therapy to patients, and she has passed that knowledge on to her daughters, Michelle and Janine.

Nesin Therapy Services began in Janet's home 20 years ago, and now occupies two facilities, one on Whitesport Dr. in Huntsville and the other on Hughes Rd. in Madison, both of which provide outpatient physical therapy services.

Nesin Therapy specializes in orthopedic physical therapy, neurological rehabilitation, women's health care and sports injury rehabilitation. They have the largest staff of Orthopaedic Clinical Specialists and Physical Therapists in North Alabama, and they remain a woman-owned company.

All of this adds up to an experience that exceeds expectations for each patient that walks in Nesin's door.

Nesin's hands-on approach begins with examination, diagnosis and explanation, with treatment of the immediate problem.

During the course of the patient's rehabilitation program, any underlying factors contributing to his or her problem are also evaluated.  This provides a more comprehensive approach to treatment.

The advantages include that we spend the entire one-hour treatment with the patient," said Traci Musch, marketing director for Nesin Therapy Services.  "The therapists here really build relationships with their patients."

Nesin Therapy Services is also very active in the community.  The organization has worked to make a difference in the Madison Chamber of commerce as well as being the title sponsor for the Third Annual Heel and Crank Duathlon, a race benefiting the ALS Association of North Alabama, and participating in the Liz Hurley Ribbon Run for breast cancer in October.

One of Nesins' physical therapists, Bridget Dietz, recently recovered from a bout with breast cancer.  Her bravery in the face of such a frightening disease inspired both her co-workers and her patients, and is testament to the mindset of Nesin Therapy Services--that anything can be accomplished with the right attitude and hard work.  Physical therapy after her breast cancer radiation treatment contributed to Bridget's recovery.  Therapy after breast cancer greatly increases mobility and restoring function.
